Baskets, 1980-present

I made my first basket when I was laid up and decided to bring a newly obtained 55 gallon drum of copper slittings into my bedroom. I had always used copper because it was affordable, easily to obtain, worked beautifully and when weaving it the material just felt right in my hands. Additionally I appreciated the colors I could obtain with copper that I could not produce with other metals. I discovered quickly that hand working the metal provided me the ability to spontaneously create large volumes that were light in weight.
